Here are some Christmas cards that I had time to make. The first card was made using last years Club Scrap's Christmas kit. I love that Peace on Earth stamp. I stamped the image with Versamark and then embossed with gold embossing powder. The gold ribbon was from my stash. The next card is made from KI Memories paper using the online bonus Z-Fold technique from the Aug/Sept Technique Junkies Newsletter. The last card is also an online bonus technique from the Oct/Nov Technique Junkies Newsletter called Double Pocket . I don't know the brand of paper, however since I've had it for a couple of years, and isn't marked on the reverse side of the paper, just waiting for the perfect time to use. lol Technique Junkies is put out by Pat Huntoon. You can go here to find out more about her newsletter. Awesome techniques and inspiration.

Here are some pictures that I took around the little town I live in. The trees were absolutely gorgeous here this year. We had lots of rain in September so instead of turning brown like they have in past years, they turned colors! 3 of the trees are Maples. The 2nd one is the Dogwood in my front yard. I haven't had much crafting time this month or at least not as much as I would like to. I have a couple of digital layouts at 3Scrapateers gallery using these pictures. My username over there is of course crzymom. Hopefully in the next week I'll have some Christmas cards to show you.

Wow! I can't believe how long it has been since I've been creative. Between my back, being sick, school starting, homeschooling and a lack of time to create I just haven't been able to keep up.

Here are some cards that I made this past week. I was playing around with some alcohol inks and came up with this background. Stamps are by Stampin' Up.

The next two cards are using stamps from Club Scrap. Card stock is Club Scrap. The above card is using card stock from Club Scraps Science kit. The 2nd card is card stock from the Academy kit. The 3rd card is using card stock from Club Scraps English Garden kit. I used part of the background that I made with the alcohol inks for the stamped squares. I think I still have a card front size piece to play with.
Thanks for looking!

Back Home Again

This last week, my hubby and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary. He surprised me by taking me to Port Townsend which is on the Washington state Olympic Peninsula. We had a wonderful 2 days without any children. Port Townsend is a lovely renovated Victorian "city" (a little over 10,000 people). The downtown and uptown areas have lots of cute shops.

The first picture is of the lighthouse that sits at the entrance of Puget Sound off the Strait of Juan de Fuca. If you look across the water to the left of the lighthouse you can see the haze of land that is Vancouver Island BC. The land to the right of the light house is Whidby Island off the coast of Washington. Because it was relatively clear we were able to see Mt. Baker to the north, Mt. Rainier to the east and the Olympic Mountains. Soooo very beautiful.

This beach is on the Puget Sound side of the lighthouse.

This next picture is one of the renovated Victorian buildings. This one happens to be the county Courthouse.

Hmmm I've been tagged and not really sure what that is or who I'll be tagging in return! lol Let's see... 7 random things about me. Well, let me show you my roses first. I love to grow roses. This picture was taken the middle of June. They're looking pretty sad right now since the deer have discovered them. There are hardly any flowers left on them. :(

1. I was born in Albany Oregon and grew up there... missed Brooke many times when I went to visit Sweet Home where she grew up. Just don't know how we didn't meet when we were in High School.

2. I asked my hubby out on our first date.

3. Didn't want any kids and ended up with 6!

4. My first name is Ann Mary... no middle name. How weird is that? My mom thought my name would be too long if I had a middle name too.

5. Met Brooke earlier this year! That was a high light of the year and I get such funny looks when I talk about finally meeting an online friend.

6. Sewing, scrapbooking, card making, cross stitching, crocheting... but, scrapbooking and card making are the ones that I do all the time anymore. Don't seem to have time for the others.

7. hmmm let's see. I love to squish spiders and stomp ants. Does that qualify for strange info about me? lol

I'm finally feeling better! At least I can sit at the computer for more than 5 minutes. And I can finally lean over to work on my crafts. I have made some new cards using Club Scraps Stratosphere kit. I used a new product (new to me) called Glimmer Mist from The color that I used on a couple of cards shown here came in my latest kit from CS called Wine n' Roses. The scans don't show it off, but it glimmers and shines. It is so pretty. I also experimented in stamping backgrounds. The first layer was stamped using a watermark pad. The second in a dark pink that matched the paper and then I stamped a coordinating stamp in black. I really liked how they turned out and will probably use the technique again. I hope you enjoy my cards!

I'm sorry I'm having troubles keeping up on this. I hurt my back and pinched a nerve in a month ago and it just isn't healing up fast enough for me. I am unable to bend over to work on my crafts. Once I'm able to work again I'll be posting. Thank you for checking back!

Here a couple of new cards that I made recently. I used the May Club Scrap kit "Simply Beautiful". I lovely kit. Thanks for looking!
I'm sorry I haven't been posting for the past month and a half. Life got in the way. My 3rd child graduated from high school and of course I was very busy getting ready for that and his open house. I have some new cards to share soon.

Lisa Volrath is having a countdown again. Here is her link She has lots of really neat stuff on her website. Hope you go check it out.

More Mother's Day cards

I finally was able to make some more Mother's Day cards. Since I have more than one mom, I have a need for more than one card! The top three cards have a cardstock base from Club Scrap Chocolate Shoppe. I love that paper! The floral & plaid paper is Daisy D. The paper flowers are Prima. The top card was stamped with a Rose stamp from Stampin' Up. The bottom card is from Club Scrap Rhapsody gtg (greetings to go) with some Sweetwater month paper. I used a Sizzix die to cut out the sunflower. The bead mix is my own and fibers are from my stash. The saying is from Club Scrap Mother's Day kit UM's.

Mother's Day

I'm working on Mother's day cards. These 2 were made last year. The first one was miscellaneous papers that I had in my stash... not too sure what brand the paper was... maybe Sharon Soneff. The beads were from a club scrap kit. The second card was made using Daisy D paper with CS card stock from the Chocolate Shoppe kit, Prima flowers, and a rubon from CS wings kit. Beads used on this card were from my stash. When I have the new cards done, I'll upload them.

Another Rhapsody Kit card

I found an old challenge over at splitcoaststampers (check out link on side) called Emerging Color. Very interesting technique that I tried out for the background paper on this card.

CS Rhapsody kit

One of the options that I get with my Club Scrap kit is the Greetings to Go side. I love this option since I can make a set of cards quickly that all match. The border at the bottom of the card was stamped and then holes punched to make it look like eyelet. The beads were attached with wire.

Elegant Birthday card swap

This is a card that I made for a swap in a group that I'm in. The challenge was to make an elegant birthday card.
