Back Home Again

This last week, my hubby and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary. He surprised me by taking me to Port Townsend which is on the Washington state Olympic Peninsula. We had a wonderful 2 days without any children. Port Townsend is a lovely renovated Victorian "city" (a little over 10,000 people). The downtown and uptown areas have lots of cute shops.

The first picture is of the lighthouse that sits at the entrance of Puget Sound off the Strait of Juan de Fuca. If you look across the water to the left of the lighthouse you can see the haze of land that is Vancouver Island BC. The land to the right of the light house is Whidby Island off the coast of Washington. Because it was relatively clear we were able to see Mt. Baker to the north, Mt. Rainier to the east and the Olympic Mountains. Soooo very beautiful.

This beach is on the Puget Sound side of the lighthouse.

This next picture is one of the renovated Victorian buildings. This one happens to be the county Courthouse.
