I've been busy making cards. I used to get the greetings to go side order from Club Scrap, but they started piling up so I discontinued them. They were grinning evilly at me lately so I decided that it would be a good thing to get them made up. This batch were the Academy gtg and when I first looked at them were uninspired. I made some them into fall cards and then the others just flowed from there. A mixture of kits were used to make these... Academy, Farmers Market, Bistro, Autumn Splendor and the new kit Mirror Mirror. A variety of stamps were used as well. Some from Club Scrap, some from Close to My Heart and the rest are Autumn Leaves stamps.

I have not been creative lately... have been too busy. I am part of an ornament swap and I decided to make mine out of paper. Both papers are Club Scrap papers. The snowflake is made from the origami paper in the Asian Artisan kit using the tea bag folding technique. The tree is made with the green handmade paper from the Evergreen kit using a Sizzix die and rhinestones. I like how they turned out. Hopefully the recipients will too.

These 2 girls were the flower girls and are best buddies. The one on the left is Nathan's youngest sister and the one on the right is Rachel's youngest sister.
This picture and the next one were taken out at the garden's and nursery where Rachel has worked during the summers for the past 8 years. Her bosses were so pleased that she chose to have pictures taken here.

This last picture was taken by a friend while pictures were taken. The flowers were gorgeous! But so was the bride of course. I'll share more pictures in a week or two. I have lots!

My life for the past couple of months has been consumed by my oldest daughter's wedding. I had forgotten how many details there are in the planning and executing of the event. I'm sharing a picture of the cake top. I didn't take my camera with me to the wedding and I wish I had... I'm hoping the photographer took a picture of the cake before it was cut. Here is the top of the cake that I took after it got home. I'll try to post some more pictures as I get them. The flowers were gorgeous. A friend of mine did them and she used delphiniums, white roses, blue orchids, blue and purple iris, white lilies, lavender roses, ferns, camellia leaves, white snapdragons, white freesia and another flower that I have never seen before.

Apple Blossom Time

Here is another layout that I made time for this week. These are photos of the beautiful blossoms on our apple trees. More macro shots! lol I used Linda Walton's (Bon Scrapatit) "Those were the Daisies" kit that she has been sharing on her blog. Awesome kit Linda!!!

new layout

I just had to take the time to be creative in the midst of the wedding plans. This layout features a photo that I took of my lilac bushes. I love the macro setting on my digital camera. It takes an awesome closeup picture! Most of this layout uses Osten Wilkin's Spring Follies "Katherine" kit. The flower branch is a commercial use piece by Kim Broedelet. The lace piece is from Manuela Zimmermann's Endless Love kit. The bracket is also a commercial use piece from Kim Broedelet, but I used one of the papers from Osten's Spring Follies "Katherine" kit to make it.

I finally had some time to make a couple more cards. These were made using K&Co Wild Saffron collection. Really fun paper to work with. The card instructions were found at SplitCoast Stampers. Shown are the outside and the inside of each card.

I've been procrastinating on making Rachel's dress for her wedding. Not a good thing, but I haven't had my sewing machine... been in being serviced. But I got a phone call this morning saying it was ready to be picked up so now I have to get it done!

Wedding Invitation

My oldest daughter is getting married this summer and so I've been busy arranging everything for her since her mind this year has been on school and graduating and not on wedding plans. This is the invite that I put together for her. She is a music education major and planning on going on to graduate school for a master's in conducting. Nathan is also very musical (they both play tuba and piano), so we felt that a musical invite was appropriate for them. All paper is from Club Scrap. The black and ivory printed is from their Musical Interlude kit of Dec. '05. I was very glad that they still had this paper in stock. The black paper has musical instruments printed on it. We made sure the plain side was up so that when you turned the invite over the print showed. The top paper is a gorgeous pearly/glittery vellum from the Dec. 07 kit called Sparkle.

I was at JoAnn's the other day and found this darling pack of K& Co paper called Sparkly Sweet. So I just had to make some cards out of it. These are techniques from Pat Huntoon's Technique Junkies Newsletter. Do check it out! There are lots of neat techniques to learn every other month. I haven't had time to try out most of them... been too busy planning a wedding with my oldest daughter. So sorry about the fuzzy pictures. I took them with my camera and I'm having problems with the auto focus. Guess I'm going to have to figure out the manual part of my camera. lol
This next card was made out of Club Scraps March 2008 kit called Avant Garde. The hot pink paper came out their Stratosphere kit. Stamps are Autumn Leaves, flowers are Prima. The "It's your day, go have fun" stamp is from CS's Bistro kit. Inside it says Happy Birthday, also from the Bistro kit.

Here is another layout that I've done. I used a kit that Linda Walton has been giving out on her blog named Bloomin' Awesome. Her blog is called Bon Scrapatit Designs. She does wonderful work and her freebies are fantastic! Thank you Linda for this lovely kit. Do go visit her. She has links to her stores on her blog. The journaling is telling how we only had 4 of our 6 children at home this Easter. It was sad/happy time.

Here is a new layout that I did of my two oldest girls. I just love this picture of them together. I used Osten Wilkins new kit called Frivolous Fancies. You can find his kits here. He has his own shop, forum and gallery now. Good luck to you Dude!

Here is another layout that I've been working on. I don't know if I'm done with it yet. lol These papers and the alpha were designed by my friend Mindi, aka HoleyCow. She sells her stuff at DSO. Let me know what you think!

I have been doing some digital layouts recently. I just love to sit at my computer rather than do chores! lol Oh well. Here is one that I did today. I used Osten Wilkins "Careless Whispers" and "Silent Whispers" kits. You can find his stuff here. Oh, I used one of Bannerwoman's overlays too so that the background paper look painted. Also found here. Let me know what you think!

I'm busy working on Valentine's Day cards. I can't believe that it is only a few weeks away. Club Scrap's kit for January is an awesome red/cream/black kit just perfect for Valentine layouts and cards. They also have an awesome Valentine kit that will be alsb'd the end of January. The wonderful thing about these two kits? They co-ordinate! The first card posted is made from the January kit using stickers from the Ivory Elegance kit and stamps from various sources. The other 2 cards are made from the February 2006 kit "Let Me Count the Ways".
