Jan 31 & Feb 1 layout

I cannot believe that it is the end of January already. Where did the month go? Do you feel that way too? I finally got my first week of photos into layouts. It is easy to take a picture a day... but to find the time to put 7 pictures into layouts is much harder. On Monday I will be posting week 2. Yes, the walls in my dining room and living room are mint green. That will change when I get the energy to repaint. I would like to repaint so the walls are the color of coffee with lots of cream in it. I used Gina Marie Huff's kit "Life 365" to do these layouts. All 52 weeks will be using the same kit just for continuity.

Jan 30

Not the best picture of my husband... but I find that I don't have very many of him to choose from. Guess I need to start taking more pictures of my other half. This is a quick page from Club Scrap's 2009 Product Demo kit. This kit was given out when they were looking for a CT for their digital kits. I picked it up thinking that I would try out for a position and then got so busy I forgot about it. oops! lol

Ok, this is way out of the box for me! lol To scrap Caleb, I used "Climbing Trees" by Chaos Lounge. Her kits are so cute! The background paper by the way is her's as well. All I did was extract Caleb out of a picture for this layout.

Jan 28 layout

These are my 2 youngest girls and their cousin Hannah. One summer when we made our annual trip to Chelan Washington they made these darling flip flops. I used the Maui Breeze Collab kit from Scrap Orchard. The template is by Bao.

Jan 27

This was Kirsten's last day of school last year. I just had to use a Valentine kit to scrap this picture. She is a pink loving girl. I used Osten Wilkin's "Be Mine, Valentine" kit.

Jan 26 layout

All I was able to do yesterday was to put a picture into a "Scrapatit" by Linda Walton. This is from her Jeanealogy of a Man kit. My back has been giving me problems and yesterday I spent most of it in bed and at the chiropractors office. It is lots better today so that is why I'm able to post yesterday's and today's layout.

Jan 25

This layout is of my daughter and her husband Nathan taken at their wedding right before everyone came out of the sanctuary. I used Linda Walton's "Love Me Tender" kit that she was giving out on her blog. Lovely, lovely kit. I had a hard time deciding what to use! I again used a template by Creative.Chaos. It is a lovely template. I replaced the swirls with the ones that Linda had and one of the hearts with that lovely brooch but otherwise is the same.

Jan 24

This is my oldest daughter being wild and crazy again! She decided to try out the back pack, head lamp and various other wedding presents and check out her bow that she had just gotten back from a friend. She was so funny looking that I had to take a picture or two or three. You might see the other 2 on another layout in the future. I used a template to make this layout... but it didn't have a designers name on it to give credit. "Frivolous Fancies" by Osten Wilkins Designs was the kit used.

Photo Tag

My friend Beth sent me a photo challenge, the rules were: Go to where you store your photos on your computer.Go to the SIXTH folder and pick the SIXTH photo.Post that photo on your blog along with a SHORT story about it.Tag SIX people and leave a comment on their blog or email them letting them know you chose them.
I'm always trying to catch my kids at different times of the day. This happens to be in May of 2007. One of my the things my kids love to do is read. These are my 2 youngest children. Reading is also one of the ways they entertain themselves when they're bored and they don't want me giving them chores! lol

Well, I met the challenge... but don't have anyone to pass it on to. Hope you enjoyed the picture and story!

Jan 23

Here is page 2 from Spring Recital. Same kit as yesterday. I did this 2 page layout for a sketch challenge at DSO. Lots of fun. I enjoy using sketches with my paper scrapping too. I realized I only took pictures of our kids and not of the audience or the other piano students as I worked on this layout. Oops! lol Since I'm the one in charge of the reception, I'm not in the auditorium listening to all of the students. That's my excuse anyway!

Jan 22

This is page 1 of a 2 page layout that I did. Come back tomorrow to see the 2nd page! I used Livia Y (at DSO) Designs kit "Serenity" for this. The flourish on the background paper is one by Manuela Zimmermann (at Scrapbook Graphics). The title was done using the font Updock and one of the papers out of the kit.

I did this layout for the color challenge at DSO. My apple trees this past year were amazing... completely loaded with apples. They were pretty good too! The pieces come out of 3 of the kits that were shared for the challenge. I used a paper and the frame cluster from Bunny Cates kit. An overlay, tag and a paper came from Crops2Dawn's kit. And from Simply Livia's kit I used another paper.

I have really enjoyed all the Christmas and Winter kits that came out this year. They're all gorgeous and I had a hard time remembering that I couldn't buy them all! This layout uses Chaos Lounge's "Whimsical Winter" kit. I take lots of pictures when it snows because we don't get much even though we live in the foothills of the Cascades.

Jan 19

This is my oldest daughter working on an afghan for her college advisers new baby. Crocheting doesn't come easy for her and I usually end up helping her some. It turned out really nice. For this layout the journaling tag came from Osten Wilkin's "Down the Back Road" kit. The rest of the layout uses Chaos Lounge's "Rainy Day Blues" kit. This is another one I wasn't very happy with, but I ran out of time.

I don't know if I'm really happy with how this one turned out. But I got tired of working on it and decided to share it anyway. The frame is from Linda Walton's (aka Bon Scrapatit) "Those Were the Daisies". The rest of the elements are from a collab kit by Chaos Lounge and Bonnie van Esch Designs called "Fall Leaves Fall".

My friend Brooke did a darling layout using the new kit "Flirty" by Jess Gordon. I loved it so much I had to go pick it up. So this layout is using that kit. The month tag is from Gina Marie Huff's new kit Life365.

Jan 16

I always enjoy doing layouts of my "little" sweetie. She is always wanting her picture taken. I started this layout by showing my husband how templates work. Not that he will remember or ever want to use one, but he was interested at the time. Since I was using such girly papers I had to use pictures of my youngest. The papers, ribbon and flower come out of a kit called "Annie Collection" by Raspberry Road. The paint swipe is from KimB's "Bugg-ing" kit and recolored, the word art is also by KimB and is from her "Words For You". You can find both items at DSO.

Jan 15

I love this picture of my youngest son reading. He loves to read, especially the encyclopedia, but in this picture he is reading comic books. Comic books seem to be the book of choice in the summer. Hope you like my layout for the day! The kit used is by KimB called "Bug-ing". Lots of really cute elements. The word art is by Jazzy.

Jan 14

I'm going to have to dig up some pictures of my sons. My youngest son was complaining that his sisters were getting all the glory! lol The kit used for this layout is by my friend Mindi, aka Holey Cow. Her link is on the right in my friends list. She used to be a designer at DSO but is taking a break. I love how she used her kit on her blog. Do go check it out... and the kit is for free!

Jan 13

Sorry I'm late in posting this. My virus scan took longer than expected and so it wasn't until after lunch that I was able to get on. This is my youngest daughter. I took 3 pictures in this series and they'll all be scrapped on one page when I paper scrap them. I loved the lighting that day. I was sitting on the couch reading a book and my camera was on the coffee table by me. I looked up and saw the light shining on her and had to take the pictures. She was concentrating so hard on her little Polly Pockets that she didn't hear the camera turn on. I used Osten Wilkin's "Garden Party" kit for this layout and a template by fei-fei's stuff.

Jan 12 layout

This layout is of my daughter at her wedding. Because we're musical people and aren't really dancers, she and her new husband had a 1st tuba duet instead of a 1st dance. Lots of fun. I used Osten Wilkins kits "Careless Whispers", "Silent Whispers" and "Marmalade Spice" for this layout. My bil took the picture.

Jan 11

Here is my layout for the day. I'm finding it is much easier to keep up doing digital layouts than I thought it would be. Now I just need to find time to play with my stamps and inks again. lol For this layout I used graphics by Audrie Jeanne Roberts. I love graphics and use them for lots of things, but haven't ever used any of hers for layouts. I really love this "Paper Flowers" collection but after looking at her site and at the Aimee Asher site I don't find it. I purchased it while she was at Daisy Company.

Jan 10 layout

I used the "Impressions of Joy" collab kit from Scrapbook Graphics. Lots of fun papers and elements in the kit to play with. The saying is from Lorie Davison's "Drifting Snow" kit from the same place.

My goal for 2009

I have decided... and encouraged by my middle daughter... to complete one digital layout a day this year. I've been doing pretty well even though my eye decided to spaz out on me. I'm even one ahead. lol The first 7 of these layouts use kits by Osten Wilkins; his Winter Wonderland, Autumn Splendor and Giving Thanks kits. The last 2 layouts are made using Lori Davison's new kit Drifting Snow.
