Reunion Blog Hop

Welcome to Club Scrap's Reunion Blog hop! If this is your first stop, you might want to go back to the beginning and see the list of all the participants. You won't want to miss any of them.

I only have 2 layouts to share with you today. This month is the most busy month of the year for me. I haven't really had any time to call my own.

This first layout uses a template that I had in my stash of digital goodies. It is by Jumpstart Designs. But everything used is from the Reunion digital kit by Club Scrap. Their digital kits always come with a nice number of overlays which I love to use to make new background papers.

This next layout, I layered several papers, added a border strip, used a photo mask and a couple of overlays. One of the overlays is from my stash and the other one is a script overlay from Club Scrap's Fossils Classic digital kit.

Thank you for looking! Your next stop on the way is Debby.

Frozen

Sharing a layout today of some cold weather we had in 2013. We don't get a lot of snow as a rule. Some years we get a lot but mostly just a dusting. But this particular month and year we got snow and then a week later had days of hoarfrost. Very beautiful... but oh was it cold.

For this layout I used a template from Imagination Vol 2 by PrelestnayaP Designs and Frostbite kit by Dawn Inskip. I thought they were perfect for the topic.

Thank you for looking. I'm sure that I won't be posting again until after Christmas. So I pray that you have a wonderful Celebration.

July Project 365

I'm starting to work on these pages again. I'm not sure why I can keep up until summer and then quit. I have a couple of years like that. I'm going to have to go back and finish them up. I think I have 3 years done and 3 years to finish up. Almost there!

Everything on these layouts is from Weeds & Wildflowers. Some of the elements are from old Project 365 kits. Most of it is from the Discover Collection.

Christmas Flowers

I am always amazed at how many pictures I haven't had the time to scrap. I'm just about done with photos that have been printed, but not the digital photos that are still waiting to go to the printers and of course every day I end up having more. I've been doing book work most of the day and needed a break so I decided to pull out another kit that I haven't used yet.

Today's layout is from 2011. I love taking photos of flowers and it makes me happy to see flowers at Christmas. I used Letter To the Winter kit by Tiramisu Designs and a template from Blended Memories 1 by Studio Rosey Posey.

Thanks for looking! I would love to hear comments from you.

dish rags

Here is a picture of some of the dish rags that I've crocheted lately. These too will be stocking stuffers. I love using my homemade dish rags. They're thicker, wash things up faster since they're larger than the ones you find in the store and they last longer too. These were made using Lyon brand crochet cotton and the patterns were ones that I found years ago for free on the internet. Any worsted weight crochet cotton would work.

Ornaments

Here is a picture of a few of the ornaments that I made for Christmas stockings for this year. They're all clear glass beaded snowflakes, but each one is different. They're about 4 1/2 inches across and it took more beads than I thought it would. I had a lot of fun making these. For now they're hanging from my chandelier. Once the kids start coming home I'll put them with my stash of stocking stuffers.

Happy Days

Another new layout. Everyone else was watching a movie, so I played on the computer and got another Autumn kit used. Everything is from True Blessing by Scrap Girls from last month's Daily Digi pack except the bird house, owl and ticket are from several Autumn kits by Studio Natali and a button from We All Fall Down kit by Allison Pennington. I used a template from As Long As I Live 3 by fiddle-dee-dee designs.

Cousin Love

I got a little bit of time to play on my computer today. Between making gifts, Christmas baking and daily chores I'm very busy and don't have a lot of time to be on the computer. Some days it doesn't even get turned on.

Today's layout uses a kit made by Scrap Orchard called Love Lives Here that you can find in December's Daily Digi. They haven't revealed any of the kits yet on the web site but they'll start soon. The template is by fiddle-dee-dee designs from her Big Hugs set.

Club Scrap Lakes Blog Hop

Welcome to Club Scrap's Lakes blog hop. I'm so glad you're here. If this is your first stop, you will want to make sure you go to the beginning to see the list of all the participants. There are always many amazing, inspiring projects and you won't want to miss any.

Today, as always, I have a couple of digital layouts to share with you. I love using templates and have accumulated quite a few free ones. This first layout uses a free template by Scrappin' With Liz, one that she offered in August. Templates are so nice since all you have to do is decide which papers and elements to use. The placement is already suggested. You can change things out if you want to, but really don't need to. Everything in this layout is from Lakes except the starfish which is from Club Scrap's Castaway kit and the sentiment stamp from By the Seashore Classic. Club Scrap always lets us know what fonts they used with each kit. This time around they used Nautik. So I used it for my title and journaling.

This next layout I was playing with layers, masks and blending modes. During my blog browsing one day I ran across a paper layout that intrigued me. I filed the technique away in my brain, however I didn't file away the name of the blog or artist. I didn't even pin it to go back to later! The artist had adhered a photo to a piece of paper and then proceeded to paint on the edges. I loved the effect and tried to do that on my layout. First I chose one of the sand papers from the kit. I added a gesso or paint overlay from Club Scrap's Up, Up & Away kit. It toned the sand down so that the photo would stand out more. Next I added a light grey roundish mask (from my stash) and clipped one of the gorgeous water color papers to it. I added a rectangular photo mask (from my stash) and clipped the photo to it. The masked paper behind the photo then appeared to be painted over the top of the photo due to the photo masks transparency on the edges. Next onto the layout was the sandcastle stamp in grey. I then layered the torn corrugated paper border from Club Scrap's Random Doorways kit and clipped another watercolor paper from Lakes changing the blend mode to overlay. Last up was the border strip, date and elements. The staples on the tag were also from my stash of digi supplies.

Blessed

I got some time to play in Photoshop tonight. My next post will be Wednesday for the blog hop but after that I'm not sure when I'll be posting again... hopefully next week.

Today's layout was done using a free template from Scrapping With Liz and a kit by AWolff Designs called Grateful. This kit is the featured designer kit at MSA this month. I thought it was perfect for another Pumpkin Patch photo and it is yet another Autumn kit that I've been able to use this fall.

Soren at the Beach

I haven't forgotten about posting. Life is just extremely busy right now with the holidays coming up. Finishing up Christmas presents is more important than being on the computer. I have this layout to share to remind you of the upcoming Club Scrap Lakes kit blog hop. Everything on the layout is from the new Lakes digital kit.

Ornaments

I finally got my pictures downloaded to my computer. I'm so happy to be able to share the project I was working on. I love making ornaments for the family for Christmas. This year it will be 12 ornaments that I need. I have made beaded icicle ornaments for the family in the past. They each had their own color. These ornaments that I'm sharing today however are for an exchange that I'm in. For the exchange I used clear and white glass beads to look more like icicles. I'm sorry the pictures aren't the best quality. It was a dark, rainy day and my little camera hates taking close-ups of ornaments even with enough light. But I think you will get the idea of what I did.

Harvest a Crop of Blessings

Another pumpkin patch layout with yet another Autumn kit that I have in my stash. Good thing Autumn goes for awhile yet.

I used another Center of Attraction template, this time from set 4 by fiddle-dee-dee designs paired with Autumn Song by Kimeric Kreations.

Sweater Weather

I'm still working my way through my Autumn kits. This layout is of my darling grandson. I used We All Fall Down kit by Allison Pennington with a template from Center of Attraction 3 by fiddle-dee-dee designs. We All Fall Down is available this month in the Daily Digi pack.

Autumn Color

I love Autumn because of all the lovely colors and warm weather. Because of that, I have lots of Autumn kits. Much too many to use all in one season and I keep getting more. This layout uses a fall kit that I've had for at least a year, maybe longer. It is Falling Deep by Studio Sherwood. The word art used on the background paper is by Studio Natali. I was playing with layers and shadows with the elements, so no template used. Thanks for looking!

Pumpkin Patch

Another layout from the pumpkin patch. I used Falling 4 U kit by Keystone Scraps. It was in September's Scrap Pack but you can find it in her store. I used a grunge overlay by Studio ViVa Artistry. It is in the DSD grab bag that is being offered today by Studio ViVa Artistry at Scrapbook Graphics. The bookplate holder is from another kit which I can't remember.

Nicolas Trike

Don't faint! I know I haven't posted in awhile and to do it twice in one week... amazing! lol I have had time this past week to be creative. I'll show you a project in a few days of something that I've been working on. But today I have another digital layout. This one is of my oldest grand daughter. I got to visit her and her family last week which was a lot of fun. We got Nicola a tricycle for her birthday. She hadn't quite figured out in September how to get it to go on the gravel. But this time she was going like crazy up and down the driveway. Whenever her mommy is outside taking care of the animals Nicola is riding her trike.

For this layout I used a template by fiddle-dee-dee designs from her Center of Attention 3 set. The kit is from this months Daily Digi: Celebrate the Little Things by Cluster Queen Creations. To grunge up the edge of the background paper I used an edging overlay by KimB.

Club Scrap Homestead Blog Hop

Welcome to Club Scrap's Homestead blog hop! If this is your first stop, you might want to go back to the beginning and get the list of all the participants. You won't want to miss any of the wonderful projects.

I was thankful that I was able to participate this month. It got me into scrapping again. I love Autumn/harvest type kits. I have oodles of these on my hard drive and so when this kit came out it was instant love. I was particularly grateful that my daughter-in-law posted Pumpkin Patch pictures in time for me to use them. I didn't even tell her what kind of pictures I needed this month!

This first layout I used a photo mask from the Bookshelves kit. Masks help make layouts easy. I used an overlay with a paper clipped to it and changed the blend mode for the background paper. I love how it turned out. The 'watch' tag on the ribbon came from Time Of Your Life kit. I added paper with the photo info and a 'bubble' to it.

This next layout was also easy. The top paper has 2 overlays with different blending modes used. The ribbon element was premade. So easy to drop in there. The tab under the picture mat was a divider from the Bookshelves kit that I clipped a Homestead paper to. I then added the photo info to it. This little guy is always happy so I had to add the smiles tag.

For this third layout I used a template. Everything is from Homestead except the hedgehog is from Random Doorways, the dark brown ribbon flowers are from Cinema, the lighter brown ribbon flower is from Trees, and the brown grosgrain ribbon is from Gratitude.

Autumn Pumpkin

I can hardly wait for the leaves to start changing. We have had a long glorious warm/hot summer. Our garden went crazy and I've been busy canning and dehydrating. But, I'm ready for fall and cooler weather. I'm even ready for the seemingly never ending rain. So I'm kind of stuck on Autumn pictures from previous years right now. Everything in this layout is from Weeds and Wildflower's Kickin' Up the Leaves kit (retired) except the border is from WW Life 365: Doodly Painted Borders.

Autumn Colors

Club Scrap's kit for October, Homestead, is out now. Today's layout is made using the digital kit. The background was made using a paper, a photo and an overlay using different blending modes. Everything used is from Homestead.

My Dad

I was sad that I didn't get to use Club Scrap's Blueprint kit and participate in the blog hop this month. It is a perfect match for pictures of my dad. My dad was a cabinet maker for many many years. Then he was a draftsman, drawing house plans and plans for businesses in our home town. He was very good at what he did. In fact I can't think of anything that he didn't do well. Of course I might be a little biased too. So I finally had time to play with the digital kit and did a layout of him. I have an altered canvas project rolling around in my head that I hope to get done some day. I need to find some more pictures of him first. I find that I don't have too many. So today's layout features Club Scrap's September Blueprint digital kit. The eyelet & ribbon bow came from a different Club Scrap kit and the tag shape & frame was from my stash of commercial items. But everything else came from Blueprints. I made the background paper by using multiple overlays and blending modes on a plain blue paper.

Nicola & Her Trike

We got Nicola a trike for her birthday. It was a late gift, but she was quite pleased to get it. She especially loved it when her uncle pushed her around. The last time I visited she was riding on her own power.

I used Falling 4 U by Keystone Scraps. You can find it in this months Scrap Pack. I also used a free template by scrapping with Liz.

Family Reunion

While waiting for my tomato sauce to finish processing I decided to work on a layout. These are pictures from our annual family reunion (hubby's side of the family). I used a template by fiddle-dee-dee from Scrap Stacks monthly scrap pack. The kit I used is Captured by Studio Blagovesta. It can be found in this month's Daily Digi pack. I also used a Magic Blend 2 overlay by Studio Rosey Posey. Thanks for looking!

Oopsie Daisy card

Between visiting grandchildren, sending a child off to college for the first time and sending another child off for their first year of High School and the garden has made for an extremely busy month. I have had no time to spend creating. Our family sitting around the dinner table has gone from 6 - 8 to 3 - 4 people in just a few short months. It has been rather a shock and difficult to get used to. I'm sure that I will adjust eventually.

This card has been sitting on the table taunting me. I had the idea for it during July and just didn't have time to put it all together. I've been waiting and waiting today for a phone call and decided to finish it up. All the supplies are from Club Scrap Oopsie Daisy kit. The flower I cut out with my Silhouette. In fact, it was left over from my July project that I did for the hop. Thanks for looking!

Cinema Blog Hop

Welcome to Club Scrap's Cinema blog hop! If this is your first stop, I highly recommend that you go to Club Scrap Creates to see the full list so you can check out all of the blogs participating.

I had big intentions of using the Stamp kit to make a project, but I have spent a good chunk of the month away from home mostly visiting grandchildren. Lots of fun, but no time in my creative space. I knew my grandson's 7th month pictures were coming up and I mentioned to my daughter-in-law what this months kit theme was and she came through with some darling pictures.

The first 2 layouts are based on the layout card that comes with each kit. It was perfect for all the pictures. On the first page I used a digital stamp for the 'Here's lookin' at you, kid.' sentiment. The 2nd page I typed right on the clapboard my grandson's name and date the pictures were taken and played with blending options to get the look that I liked.

This next layout I shared already in the Art Gallery at Club Scrap's forum. I used multiple layers of papers, overlays and blending options to make the background. Then I dropped the premade photo cluster, added the alpha title, photo and then the date and it was done. Nice and easy layout even though it looks complicated.

The last layout I used a template from my stash. The cluster of elements is made using items from Cinema, Time of Your Life and Comfort Zone kits. The background paper was made using one of the papers from the kit and adding a couple of overlays and a mask. The grunge edge was from my stash that I clipped one of the kit papers to. The template had a ticket on it already. I made a matching paper by filling new 12 x 12-inch file in Photoshop with a matching color from the color wheel provided by Club Scrap on their blog and added a texture overlay to it. I then clipped it to the ticket shape and used a digital stamp from the kit to 'print' it. The oval frame shape was also on the template and I made another matching paper with the same texture as the first one and clipped it to the shape. I then added a drop shadow and stroke to it. I was really pleased with how it turned out.

Busy with Bracelets

I went with my girlfriends to the beach in June. We had a blast celebrating one of the friends 50th birthday and spending time with each other relaxing. Since then we have been getting together once a month to have a 'beach reunion'. So far we've been playing with beads each time. The following bracelets were all made during the last 2 get togethers. All of them except the 3rd one were made from beads out of my stash and the other girl's stashes. The 3rd bracelet was a set of beads that came in My 'Come Sail Away' kit from Club Scrap. I had been hanging on to these beads and not splitting them up hoping that I would come up with some way to turn them into wearable art. Since I had 2 whole afternoons without interruptions I finally was able to make a bracelet out of them.

Don't forget to come back tomorrow for the blog hop!
