Dahlia Cards

April's Club Scrap kit Dahlia has been a fabulous kit. I haven't used much of the papers yet, but I have had fun playing with one of the stamps and Color Bursts by Ken Oliver.

The first card I used a dry piece of watercolor paper, stamped the flower image with white pigment ink and embossed with white embossing powder. I then sprinkled the Color Burst on it and misted it down with water. Using the sketch from this month's Sketch Challenge in the Forum at Club Scrap I cut my pieces out and matted on a black piece of cardstock. The purple base card is from a really old Club Scrap kit. The ribbon and sentiment both came out of the Dahlia Greeting to Go kit. They were leftovers. I chose colors that I thought would match the kit.

This next card I stamped and embossed like the first card, but then I wet the paper down. I sprinkled the Color Bursts onto the paper and using a wet paint kind of smeared it around. I like the effect and didn't get those really intense spots of color. Looks more like a watercolor wash. The sentiment stamp is also from the Dahlia kit. The butterfly was cut out vellum from an old retired kit from Club Scrap using a Cuttlebug butterfly die and embossing folder. Sentiment was stamped using Club Scrap's India Ink pad.

Paris Flea Market Linky Party

I know, I know. I'm a month late with this project. I got started on it and life got in the way and I was just this week able to finish it up. Unfortunately I didn't get pictures taken at the beginning. If you would like to see all the other projects from this Blog Hop please go here.

This kit screamed book at me. Since I have 3 granddaughters I thought the pink, black, grey and white papers appropriate. The book ended up 5 by 7.5 inches. Everything used is from Club Scrap's Paris Flea Market kit. I made sure that I had both the Deluxe kit and the Lite kit to work with. And of course I still have quite a bit of paper left. Not so many embellishments however.

This first picture shows some of the decorated pages. On some of the pages are places for photos and some have spots for journaling. I used various Spellbinder dies for the photo mats. Some photo mats are plain.

I turned this lovely text weight paper into an envelope for loose items such as locks of hair or treasures that the girls might give me.

These were the unfinished covers. I picked them up at my favorite scrapbook store in Chelan Washington which has now gone out of business. :(

Here are the finished covers. The front cover on the inside is a grey floral print.

The finished book. The beads on the spine are from old Club Scrap kits. I really miss the bead cups.

Another angle of the finished book.

Club Scrap's Dahlia Blog Hop

So glad you came to see what I made for the Dahlia Linky party. I ran out of time playing around with my stamps and Color Bursts that I made a digital layout for you this month. The Dahlia digital kit and the paper kits are gorgeous. Love those watercolor flowers. For my layout I started out using one of the backgrounds that came with the kit. I then layered on an overlay. I ended up using a soft large eraser to erase part of the overlay so that you could still see it, but it wasn't as bold except in the bottom left corner. I added a border to which I inserted some photos and then layered some tags and flowers for the corner. Everything is from the Dahlia digital kit except the staple which came out of my digital stash.

Thank you for looking! Don't forget to go here to see all of the projects that are part of this hop.

Our lilacs are almost done blooming. Another rain storm will take the rest of the blossoms off. It has been nice having everything blooming a month early, but I'm sad because it is all happening at one time instead of spread out over a couple months.

I had fun putting this layout together. It is a little busy and I most likely over did it. But I'm not going back to redo it either. This months Pickle Barrel at Pickleberrypop had incredible kits. I love the color palette. Lets see, I used a paper from Boudoir by Vero for the background. I then blended a photo of my lilacs from a few years ago, added an edging overlay from my CU stash by KimB that I clipped a dark purple paper from Jumpstart Design's Beautifully Boho kit to. I then started layering stuff on from Lilacs and & Lace by Fayette, Beautifully Boho by Jumpstart Design and Spring in My Garden by Paty Greif.

Flowering Cherries

Every Spring these trees burst out in bloom. It seems as though they're everywhere. I would love to have one for my yard, but there really isn't any place to put it. So I enjoy the ones at my oldest daughter's home and the ones at our Church.

For this layout I used a template from Creative Blending Vol 20 by PrelestnayaP Design. I used Springtime kit by Kimeric Kreations and Calico Spring by Paper Garden Projects.  Thank you for looking!

Another layout showcasing my spring flowers. They were incredibly gorgeous again this year.

I used a free template by Kimeric Kreations this time. I'm not sure when I picked it up. I used paper and elements from several different kits by Dawn Inskip... Always and Forever, Besotted and Visual Art Media. Her store is here. I used a few commercial items from my stash... the string, curled ribbon, lace edging and rosette were recolored before using Thank you for looking!.

5 days

This little guy has never been 'little'. At 5 days he had gained at least a pound from his birth weight. He is amazing. The day this picture was taken his mom and I had run to the coffee shop for a drink and he was sound asleep when we got back. Such a sweet picture that I just had to take before we took him out of his car seat. He woke up of course as soon as we took him out.

For this layout I used pieces from multiple kits: Candid Moments by Amanda Yi, Harmony by Blue Flower Art, Smile Is Your Day by Chunlin Designs, Embracing Life by Jumpstart Designs, Dance in the Rain by Sherri Ferguson and Adventure Time by Vera Lim Design. They are all found in this month's Daily Digi Files. I also used a template from Creative Blending Templates Vol. 7 by PrelestnayaP Design.

Follow Your Heart

Ok, so I did this a little bit backwards. I know that I did this little girls 9 month layout a couple days ago, but I ran across this darling picture and realized it was the only one I had for her 7 month layout. I used Kimeric Kreation's Strong Hearts, Courageous Minds Collection with a template from Big Photo Templates 2 by Scrapping with Liz. The button came out of my stash as well as the bead scatter which I recolored to match.

9 months

Why do babies grow up so quickly? Don't get me wrong. I love all the stages that children go through, but the baby stage goes by way too swiftly. You can't snuggle close and smell that sweet baby smell for very long. This little one is getting ready to crawl.

For this layout I used several kits that were exclusive to Daily Digi Files in January 2016. The template used is from Artsy Template MultiPack 8 by Anna Aspnes.

Something Wonderful

Club Scrap's new kit is out and it is gorgeous! I'm loving the art work on this one. Everything used is from Club Scrap's Dahlia digital kit. The tag was made using a tag template by Kimeric Kreations. I think it was a newsletter freebie.

Grandma's Roses

I decided I wanted 3 identical layouts of my granddaughters since I'm hoping to put together books for each of them eventually and thought these would make nice title pages. I was playing with a new font that I picked up. I really love the swooshes. No template for these. I used a photo mask by Palvinka Designs which I think had been a set of newsletter freebies. The notebook paper is by Kimeric Kreations. The rest is all CU stuff from my stash.
